The Death of Jesus

Happy Easter!
Easter represents the resurrection of Jesus and thereby, we celebrate our Lord Jesus Christ and our salvation. Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb on the third day after his crucifixion. Easter is the fulfilled prophecy of the Messiah, who was persecuted, died for our sins, and rose on the third day (Isaiah 53). Remembering Easter shows the basis of our salvation. Without the death of Jesus Christ who paid the price for our sins, shed His precious blood for you and I so we can be saved eternally and live heaven here on earth, we won't be able to experience the full measure of our inheritance in Christ. Jesus died so we could live, He died to show how He loves us, and that is the greatest love anyone can show us. He died so we can have an eternal life, went through pain for our sake, conquered death for our sake and gave us victory over death, not just physical death alone but also spiritual death.
Spiritual death causes separation from God as a result of sin. That is why Christ came to bear the sacrifice to die on our behalf and to break the chain that causes the separation from God which is sin. Christ's death removed this separation and reconciled us back to God. Jesus Christ's blood symbolises the atonement for our sins. It is the purchasing price He used for the exchange to bear our sins even before we were born. Our sins had put us in captivity from which we need to be delivered. The price that is paid to deliver someone from captivity is called a “ransom" and His blood was the ransom. Christ was crucified for our sake, He shed His innocent and precious blood for us  while we were yet sinners, He came to die for us without considering all our evil acts as humans. The guilt of our sins was taken away from us and was  placed on Christ, who discharged it by His death. I Corinthians 15:55 talks about the victory of Jesus over death. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ death, we now have victory over any form of death that is why we celebrate in this period of Easter because He has given us the power to overcome any form of death (physically, spiritually, mentally, financially, emotionally, psychological and in every area of life). Death to a thing means cessation to its existence. It symbolises the end of its functioning. So He came to give us life again and make us function in every aspect of life without any fear of obstacles.

There are three things we had to be released from, the curse of the law, the guilt of sin, and the power of sin. Christ redeemed us from each of these three things.
* Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law: “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us” (Galatians 3:13-14).
* Christ redeemed us from the guilt of our sin. We are “justified as a gift by His grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:24).
*Christ redeemed us from the power of sin: “knowing that yoi were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your fathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:18-19).
Note that we are not simply redeemed from the guilt of sin. To be redeemed from the power of sin means that our slavery to sin is broken. We are no longer a slave to sin. We have the power to overcome any temptation. We are now free to live a life of righteousness and a life above sin. Our redemption from the power of sin is thus the basis of our ability to live holy lives: “You have been bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your bodies” (1 Corinthians 6:20).Christ’s death was a defeat of the power of satan. Satan’s only weapon that can ultimately hurt people is unforgiven sin. Christ took this weapon away from him for all who would believe, defeating him and all the power of darkness. So that is why my dear, anytime you fall or sin, don't feel guilty because you know it is the trap of the enemy to weigh you down but rise up stronger and better by the power of God. I know it's not easy but it is easy by the grace of God that is why His strength is made perfect in your weakness. He said " the righteous shall fall seven times and shall rise up again, so I implore you to keep rising, when you fall stand up strong again with the help of God, I believe He will help you; His grace is sufficient for you and I. Hallelujah! Christ has risen and so we are free from the shackles of the enemy.

Happy Easter once again ☺️
